We here in Central Europe sometimes dream of living on an island, while many an islander longs for the mainland…. Memories of a friend’s youth from the Azores, 600 km in the Atlantic, inspired me to write this piece.
Here in the middle of Europe sometimes we dream of a life on an island – whose inhabitants, however, yearn for a visit on the mainland… Vivid childhood reflections by a dear friend inspired me to compose this song.
